Wooden Bridges - Bluegrass Band
of Hartland, Wi.
Based out of the Lake Country area of Waukesha County, the Wooden
Bridges Bluegrass Band has been playing for bluegrass festivals,
weddings, taverns, school groups, community socials and church festivals
since early 2005. With their unique harmony vocals, Wooden Bridges
blends traditional bluegrass music with old-time, gospel, Celtic,
classic country and original music. Anchoring the band on the upright
bass, from Menomonee Falls is singer/songwriter Mark Thone. With a
clear, high tenor voice he provides lead and harmony vocals for
the group. Lead and rhythm guitar support comes from Rudy Custer of
North Lake. With a long background in country and folk music, he
sings lead and bass harmony. Adding that essential bluegrass chop,
tremolo and mandolin lead is Rich Schwartz, also of North Lake. When
not serving as announcer for the band (or telling banjo jokes), he
helps out on lead and harmony vocals. The hard-driving banjo playing
of Jeff Mann rounds out the quartet. From Wales, WI, Jeff also sings
lead and is the group’s webmaster.
